Episode 6 The Appearing Act (Again)

Episode 6 The Appearing Act

[Due to reader discretion… Episode has been revised]

To recap on the previous episode…

Spoonman tripped over after being frightened by the sparks produced by his head hitting the roof of the cave during ‘excited’ dancing. He stumbled and fell (for7.36 seconds) and landed in a field and then was awoken by Jenny nudging him with a humungous grin.

Spoonman looks at Jenny’s big smiley face and asked “Jenny… how come you have a huge grin on your face?” .. Jenny says to Spoonman… “Don’t u see Spoonman… open ur mind.. Look around you”.. Spoonman shut his eyes and then with gusto opened his eyes again.. and like magic… the fields of grass and trees and animals transform..

Now Spoonman was standing in the middle of a quite large stadium almost the size of Athens Olympics opening ceremony stadium. … As Spoonman scanned the vast area of seating, something strange started to happen. People started to appear (people as in Spoonman people of course) and then as Spoonman scanned some more.. he realised he was on a basketball court, with a score board and everything. He realised also that this basketball court was not set up with a hoop and a key and a foul line. But with some boxes and staging and all sorts of shenanigans… Spoonman knew not how he had gotten there.. but he certainly knew y he was there … ... after all his travels and anxiousness and the complete unknown.. Spoonman realised he had finally made it to the Mega Dance Contest.

As the sheer excitement of the entire situation ravelled out in front of Spoonman, his body became overwhelmed and he started to shake. Whilst scanning some more.. he realised that his friends 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' were sitting in an area to the side of the arena. Spoonman ran directly over to 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' .. “How did you guys get here… I was so worried” Spoonman said to both 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' .. and then Spoonman realised that 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' were both chained to the seating. In a shocked manner he continued “How come you are chained to the chair? … Quick.. ill get you out.” … As he said that however, the Big googly eyed gorilla appeared before Spoonman. After making some strange gorilla noises, the gorilla says in a very deep voice (think Barry Manilow style) “The only way you are going to save your friends Spoonman.. … is to beat me in the Mega Dance Competition”.

Will Spoonman be able to beat the Gorilla and Save his friends?

Where did Jenny go?

Episode 7 - The Mega Dance Competition

Episode 7 - The Mega Dance Competition

Spoonman is standing opposite the big Evil Gorilla and wondering if he will in fact be able to beat him and then save his friends ‘Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy’. This is where some of Spoonman’s self doubt issues come into play. Although he believes he can dance, he is worried that he might possibly not perform to the best of his ability… and lets all not forget the possibility that if he doesn’t complete the routine as exceptional, he could be no more…. All of these fears are overwhelming to a mere Spoon… but u see… Spoonman is phenomenal! … He takes this nervousness and the fears of not being good enough and the possibility of dying… and uses them as power. He is able to create a whirlwind around in (mostly thru his cape) which can only be absorbed through the little angle of metal on his hear which became exposed through the terrible cave incident. The Gorilla sees this and tries to distract Spoonman by jumping in front of him and flashing his V... but unfortunately for him, Spoonman is just too Strong. As Spoonman’s powers become stronger… his cape for some reason diminishes in size (perhaps to give more room for Super Dancing!). And after a short while (about 11.4 seconds) Spoonman finally feels strong enough to be able to dance and beat the gorilla and save his friends.

The competition is just about to begin. The crown is roaring, the stage crew are prepped with both Spoonman’s and the Gorilla’s musical choices and the lights are set to make the mood truly spectacular!!! … The only thing missing was the Umpire. The umpire’s main objective was to alleviate the tension between the two competitors (something similar to a boxing umpire). Along with this alleviating of tension… she was also in charge of making sure no illegal dance moves were used. Although she was not the judge (there were 3 of those sitting in the front row), She was the one who made sure all of the strict rules in the dancing code were taken seriously... and if at any point in time a competitor was to take advantage of any of these... She would halt the competition with a loud stern blow of the whistle, and would give a warning to that competitor. Once 3 warning were received, and then formal charge and the dancing police would come and take them away to the Czech Republic for about 7 years. Not sure why that happened.. But they surely took this competition very seriously!!

Whilst waiting for the umpire to arrive, Spoonman walked towards the spot where both he and the Gorilla would take the toss to see who would be the first to compete. As the umpire walked out of the stadium doors, Spoonman was in awe.. .. The umpire was none other than Jenny.

By the time Jenny had reached the spot where both Spoonman and Gorilla were, Spoonman had had time to pick himself up off the floor and was about to ask her how she knew.. but Jenny interrupted Spoonman and said “Spoonman.. I will tell you everything later.. but right now you really have to focus on winning this competition.” … Spoonman knew Jenny was right and agreed to wait and to focus on saving his friends. Jenny then Started as her role as Umpire.. “Right fellas… You know the rules. Let’s Dance!”.. She spoke with such fluency that it was like melting butter on a warm potato. She was perfect to be the Umpire for the Mega Dance Competition! ..

Who will go first in the competition?

Will Spoonman be able to beat Gorilla and Save his friends Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy'?

Welcome to The Great Adventures of Spoonman..

Hi everybody...

Im here to introduce somebody very important to me. He has helped me through alot.. In my past times... Mostly i draw pictures. Some of these pictures are scary, others are simply there to amuse. But mostly, i draw to confuse. It gives you a great sense of peace to draw (or paint in the very nifty paintshop available on most PCs) and to be able to portray exactly what is in ur mind, without letting too many people understand the anguish and constant twitching, and to be honest..... the plain madness.. that is inside!

My new occupational tool to help me thru the drearyness is a story. A very eventful story that is completely me. It is the essence of my mind, my soul and everything in between. It flows so freely, with all its twists and turns (often i dont even know waht going to be typed onto the page) which keeps it exciting.

Spoonman is riveting story of a kitchen utensil with some great abilities (and a super duper cape!!!) and i mustnt forget.. some awful great friends. After all... is that what lifes all about??

Each episode will be posted with pictures after completion. Apologies for spelling mistakes and sometimes made up words. Often the flow is so fast that i have no time to correct myself.

Hope you all enjoy The Great Adventures of Spoonman

The Great Adventures of Spoon Man - Issue 1

The Adventures of Spoon Man

Spoon Man was an exceptional Dancer. He could do the tap, the jive and even a little of the hiphop styles of those hooligans who wear their pants really low and shoes that are 3 sizes too big. Because Spoon Man was such an exceptional Dancer, he decided it was time that he entered into a competition and finally made a name for himself among the people. At first, he wanted to make a name for himself in the streets, but decided there was just too much dirt. (One of Spoon Mans greatest secrets is his OCD, he hid it well, which was a great accomplishment in itself, as often OCD sufferers are extrinsic and portray their emotions and problems with specific element in an outward display of disgust.) Anyways, getting back to Spoon Man. His first real dance tournament was coming up quickly and had not decided on the specific routine which would be his for the competition. There were 3 options each with a possible positive and a Negative outcome.. The problem was, each were completely different and each had different set of risks. The first routine Spoon Man had prepared was quite long. This particular routine was great in portraying Spoon Mans ability to move at rapid speeds whilst still showing that his movement had emotion and a definite sense of Passion. Routine 2 was the complete opposite. It was like watching a disco in slow motion. But it was quite amusing to watch and it could potentially give people Epilepsy (Think Flashing Lights) .. and I must admit, it was definitely a crowd Pleaser. The third routine was very strict and structured. It was the pinnicle in dance routines, especially since Spoon Man technically was just a Spoon with some attachments. This routine had some risks however and if attempted, would need to be executed with the preciseness of the edge of a Poly Ceremonial Shirt Sleeve with 2/3rds of a can of Starch, With only 1 crease. If executed just perfectly would take the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prizes all together. Plus probably 11 cheese breads from Sizzlers, a 3 Stack with maple syrup and Banana from Pancake Manor, and a Pie from that place at Ashgrove that makes the best pies (so im told). This routine was the show stopper, and would definitely was able to show exactly how versatile Spoon Man was. And Boy oh Boy was he Versatile!

The only problem with this routine was, that if for some reason Spoon Man was not able to execute this with the augusto and hype and exactness that was necessary... Spoon Man might be No More .. if u know what I mean.

So now I put the question out there... What should Spoon Man do?

Is it better to be safe and never really challenged, or go for broke and possibly not survive?

Spoon Man E2- Big Decision

Episode 2 - Big Decisions

Its the day before the super Mega Dance Competition and Spoon Man has still not made a decision on which routine to choose. (Perhaps another point in his OCD struggles). Well he is with all his might, trying to weigh up the facts and choose the most appropriate option to give him the best chance of succeeding, however things are just not working for him. He decides it would probably be best for him to consult with a few of his good friends 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy'. Now dont get me wrong, these 2 individuals are very intelligent and quite considerably good-looking. But sometimes, they make stupid decisions based solely on what kind of food they are eating at the time. For instance, once Salad Fork Boy decided to take a tour of Denmark wearing only a pillow because the alphalfa beans he was bearing his teeth into were telling him to. Pretty Bloody Stupid if you ask me.. Uv gotta wear a sheet too.. Come On! Well anyways, Spoon Man decides to ask for some advice from his friends and arrives at their Loft apartment in the streets (yes the ones he finds disgustingly dirty) and does a little demonstration of each of the 3 routines to see which one the friends think will help him conquer the people. After a little time and some puzzled expressions on their faces, 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' look at each other and then at Spoon Man, then back at each other, and once again at Spoon man, and this continues for about 11 minutes until Spoon Man yells at the top of his lungs "OUI! .. ". The 2 friends both stop in their tracks and look at Spoon Man one more time and query as to which Routine he would like to do. Spoon Man thinks to himself 'Hmmm... Im not sure'.... I really would like to still be alive, but if I pull of this routine, all the people will know me. I will have accomplished what I set out to do . 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' both look at each other and then back at Spoon Man one more time and announce to him. "We have an answer for you Derrick.." (that was Spoon Man's true Identity.. but since he was a kid, he has had issues dealing with that name. Somethng about concrete, but I wont go into that now.). "You need to do this routine Spoon Man, you need to do routine number 3!"...

Finally everything looked clear for Spoon Man. He had a decision, and was ready to go into the competition and see exactly if he could pull off the great feat of surpassing the challengers in the Mega Dance Competition which would potentially change his whole life.

Ep-3 .. Spoonman Meets the Great Ape!

Episode 3

The day of the competition arrives and Spoonman wakes with a hesitation of what is to come. But this hesitation is soon overtaken by a variety of emotions and other body altering feelings and movements.. I must say tho.. Spoonman is quite nervous. This is a big day for him. He could potentially conquer the world, seeing as he has Routine 3 sussed to be his for the day. There is a slight possibility that Spoonman might not make it tho. (That is the part that freaks me out the most I think... I mean, what great adventures can I write about if there is no more Spoonman?). Enough about me.... Spoonman slowly moves around his house like a walloping goanna trying to focus on perfecting his very difficult routine whilst going about his regular daily activities. Although mundane, these activities are what will prepare him for success. He pours himself some rubix bites cereal and peels and slices a banana and yoghurt for his breakfast. He then dresses himself in the appropriate attire for a mega dance competition which could potentially make him one with the world. (I apologise for the constant reiterations of the events that could potentially occur, but they are pretty bloody important!!) ... Anyways, Spoonman eats his breakfast, Brushes his teeth and then dresses into his Spoonman costume (with matching cape) and gracefully grabs his mix tapes and heads out the door where he will walk to the destination of the Mega Dance Competition.

Whilst on his journey, Spoonman is Whooshed with an unbelievable feeling of intensity. It was almost like he was being called.. called for help in some super saving mission. Although the super mega dance competition was so completely important to him.. Sometimes things pop up and priorities change. Spoonman realises he is being beamed (to keep with the superhero theme) and heads in the direction of the beckoning calls. Spoonman arrives at the scene of a huge crime spree where a giant gorilla with big bulging eyes and the letter V boldly printed on his chest. The gorilla seems to be holding something.. but what? What can the gorilla possibly be holding? .. Spoonman looks for a little bit and then looks away. Spoonman realises the Gorilla's very powerful. He has some form of mind-numbing control.. (It was true.. the prominent V on the Gorillas chest was a hypnotising device that the gorilla commonly used to destroy his unknowing opponents. Spoonman looks back again at the Gorilla because by then, the V's powers had faded enough for Spoonman to be able to focus enough again and to try and see exactly what the Gorilla was holding. After a short while (before the V's powers had worked again), Spoonman realises that the gorilla was actually holding 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy'. "Oh No..!" Screamed Spoonman.. Then he yells "iIl Save u 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy'. "

Why has the gorilla captured Spoonman's beloved Friends?

How would Spoonman possibly save them?

What was he going to do?

Episode 4 - The enchanted Forest

Episode 4 - The enchanted Forest

Spoonman has just realised that the evil gorilla is holding his beloved friends 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy'. In the midst of all the commotion and stuff.. (The gorilla, the cars and people around the street of the gorilla, and the fact that he was missing the mega dance competition..) Spoonman wonders if there is a way to defeat the gorilla and save his friends. 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' are by this time are getting quite anxious. Then they both see that Spoon man is right there.. He has come to rescue them. "Woo hoo" ...'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' both yell "Spoonman has come to save us... you will be no more Evil Gorilla" they say to the gorilla in an overzealous enthusiastic tone. This just makes the gorilla angry.

Although Spoonman is quite powerful.. he sometimes has issues in the decision making department. .. This is a definite problem because Spoonman is wasting time trying to decide how best to tackle the situation. 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' know of this problem and decide to try and help Spoonman out a bit. They start yelling ideas at him, and after a while Spoonman went in for the attack.. The gorilla spun around and all of a sudden Spoonman was hit to the ground with such force that even 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' thought he was a goner.... "Oh no.. " yelled both 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy'. .... "Spoonman get up.. come on Spoonman.. please get up" they pleaded to the now unconscious Spoonman lying on the ground. All hope seemed lost for 'Splade Guy' and 'Salad Fork Boy' now.

Something strange started to happen to Spoonman. Although he was not conscious to the outside world.. Spoonman's inside world started to go absolutely berserk! .. his mind was being teleported to another place, another destination away from his body, away from his friends.... Away from all things that made him feel safe. .... Suddenly Spoonman awoke and realised he was no longer on the street, or the city, or even in the country. Where he stood.. he was surrounded by trees and a river and some more trees. "What's going on?" questioned Spoonman out loud. As he started to wander, he noticed he could ear the sound of a beating drum.

Was this the sound of music?

Where was it coming from?

Is Spoonman stuck in some kind of dream or will he be stuck on some island somewhere forever?

Ep 5 Spoonman and The Cave of Doom

Ep 5 Spoonman and The Cave of Doom

Spoonman continued to wander trying to figure out exactly where he was. Following the sound of the beating drum, he walked past some trees , along the river and stumbled across a mountain with what looked like quite an extravagant cave. Although the outside of the mountain was covered in boulders and all things mountainous, as he walked into the cave.. Spoonman knew that this cave was different. This was not like any other cave that Spoonman had ever seen (and I mean not on TV or anything).

Spoonman was very excited about what he had discovered and immediately started dancing in joy. Something he had not done in a fair while. (Spoonman had been so focussed on the mega dance competition and being one with the world.. or the streets.. that he lost the fun of it.) In all the excitement , Spoonman accidentally scratched the tip of his head against the top of the cave and a bunch of sparks flew out across the cave in an unfashionable manner. Spoonman was certainly not expecting t hat to happen and got a fright and tripped over a bunch of little stones on the caves floor. With that, he stumbled and tripped all the way down an opening in the side of the wall (which was covered by the darkness of the cave). As he was tripping and falling, sparks shot off in all directions and eventually after about 7.36 minutes.. Spoonman landed at what seemed like the bottom of an almost bottomless crevice.

As he lay on the ground in a mess, Spoonman was awoken by an almost nudging feeling. He slowly opened his eyes and realised something quite gordy and ornate was standing next to him. "Hello... r u ok?" asks the strange creature. Spoonman looked in slight dismay as he nodded and uttered "I think so... where am I? Who r u?". The creature
without breaking gaze with Spoonman said "im Jenny... This is our home..". Jenny then pointed out across the grassy landscape with amazement and said "Hi Jenny, Im Spoonman. I come from the city,. " He continued "I don't know how I got here Jenny. I was supposed to be in a mega dance competition today, but had to go and try and save my friend, then I got sent here by a giant googly eyed gorilla, then I followed a trail through some trees and along a river and into a cave.. And now i'm here..." Jenny looked at Spoonman with a humungous grin on her face.. it was almost as if she knew something that Spoonman did not..

Why did Jenny have a humungous grin on her face?

What does Jenny know?

Episode 6 - The hut of Sorrow

Episode 6 - The hut of Sorrow

As Spoonman lay on the grass and noticed Jenny's big grin getting bigger and bigger, he realised that something was not right. At that instant Spoonman jumped up and started to run. He ran and ran and ran and then for about another 11 minutes he ran again. Little did Spoonman know however, that Jenny was much faster.. She pursued Spoonman until he ran out of oomph and then collapsed into another pile on the ground. Something familiar happened once again to Spoonman. He awoke with a gentle nudging feeling. Again it was Jenny and in complete disbelief as to what had happened during the past 11or so minutes, Spoonman finally asked Jenny "what is going on Jenny?...Why did you chase me?" Jenny looked sheepishly into Spoonman's eyes and said "Oh dear little Spoonman... There is something I need to tell you". Spoonman looked in confusion as Jenny continued "You see Spoonman, we have been waiting for you for a very long time... We first heard of your great courageous ways and exuberant dancing abilities back in December. You are the only living descendant of our great chief 'Ogservalode'". He was bitten by a very venomous tree sap eating beetle and you are his only hope of survival. Sir Ogservalode has been on a steady decline for the past 4 months and you are the only one who can possibly save him.

Spoonman still in complete shock, able to utter a word, looks at Jenny.. and immediately She knew. "Quick Spoonman... we have not much time to save the Great Sir Ogservalode". By this time Spoonman had come to terms with the task at hand and gained had also gained his speech mechanism back. He asks Jenny "But how can I help Jenny? ....Im just a Spoon. How could I possibly help Sir Ogservalode? ... Please tell me what I have to do." Jenny looks at Spoonman and says "Spoonman... Only you have the answer. Only you Spoonman.. Only You." With that.. Jenny took Spoonman up along the mountains and through the valley to where the Chief lay in his sick solemn state.

As soon as Spoonman entered the premises, he felt a big gust of sorrow breeze over him. He started to feel anxious (like he has many times before ... refer to episode 1). Jenny noticed this and stood up (with her head almost poking out the top of the hut) and said to Spoonman "Don't be nervous Spoonman.. You can do this! ... You were brought here for a reason... We believe in you" .. Spoonman got a red glow on his face (possibly due to the love and assurance just received from Jenny.. or maybe the from the fire in the hut that was keeping Sir Ogservalode warm.)

Spoonman moved closer to Sir Ogservalode and froze as he saw exactly what the bite of the very venomous tree sap eating beetle had done to poor Sir Ogservalode.

What did the beetle do?

What monstrosity was Spoonman faced with??
